Mr. Malone’s home had contributed to the manpower of our great nation, upholding the ideals of our American freedoms in the U.S. Navy. After 20 years of faithful and dedicated service, Norman retired as a First Class Petty Officer. Mr. Malone loved to share stories about his time in the service. He had good war stories about the places he had been and things he had seen that now rest in our history books.
Norman was a simple, unassuming, keep-to-himself kind of guy. A typical grumpy old man who followed an exact schedule with precision. He liked his morning breakfast at the diner, watching his programs, game shows, and, of course, cheering on the 49ers, the Phightin Phils, and all of his favorite WWE stars.
Following his active duty service, Mr. Malone finished his working years as a cook preparing meals for the Bancroft School in Haddonfield. Mr. Malone is the son of the late Fred & his wife, Matilda (nee Williams) Malone. He survived by and will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Denise & her husband, Charles Clair, Chelsea Clair (Tyler), and Charles (Carly) Clair, III, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Norman will be deeply missed by his dear lady friend and companion, Debbie Bates. Mr. Malone is the brother of and was predeceased by his siblings: John (Rose) Malone, Etta (Butch) Hart, and June (Joe) Mellon.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday morning. We’ll come together in honor of those who sacrificed, in tribute to those who served, and in gratitude to those now serving to render United States Naval Honors at 10:00 am at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery in Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Ave., Camden.
