Michael G. Nicosia, Jr.

Michael G. Nicosia, Jr. fell asleep in death on August 1, 2026, after a courageous year-long illness. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished uncle and friend whose kindness, perseverance, and love for family touched all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Nicosia (née Hopson); his son, Michael G. Nicosia III, and daughter-in-law, Lauren (Dudley) Nicosia; and his treasured grandson, Isaac Thomas, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother Nicholas Nicosia, his Uncle Peter Deleski, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Pete Perovich, and his father, Michael G. Nicosia, Sr.

Before retiring in 2024, Michael dedicated 29 years to Pitman Warehousing, where he worked as a forklift driver. He took pride in his work and was respected by his coworkers for his reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment throughout nearly three decades of service.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Michael loved athletics from an early age and participated wholeheartedly in every game he played. In his younger years, he proudly played hockey with the Gloucester Knights Hockey Team and softball with the Pine Hill Tavern Softball Team. Those who knew Michael knew that he gave everything he had on and off the field, and never shied away from a challenge.

Beyond playing sports, Michael was an avid collector of sports cards, especially baseball cards. He found great enjoyment in building and sharing his collection and was always happy to talk sports with fellow enthusiasts.

Some of Michael's favorite memories were made fishing on the Delaware Bay alongside his stepfather and brother. Despite the relentless gnats and greenhead flies, he looked forward to those trips and treasured the time spent together on the water. It was the companionship, laughter, and shared experiences that made those outings special.

Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to those he cared about, his enduring sense of humor, and the strength of his faith. His family and friends take comfort in the Bible's promise of a resurrection and look forward to the time when they will welcome him again.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3060 Glassboro-Cross Keys Road, Glassboro, New Jersey 08028.
