There’s nothing better than a good drive with “The Boss’” tunes. Top down, volume up, belting out lyrics at the top of your lungs. Kevin loved cruising in his MG convertible with Neil & Bruce, and we have memories longer than the road stretches ahead.

He was a loving family man. He loved his work, his sports, and his music. But this life given us by nature is short. The memory of a life well spent is eternal. On Thursday, August 6, 2026, just days before Kevin was set to go another trip around the sun, the corruptible put on the incorruptible. Kevin’s soul had risen like incense from Cherry Hill to a place just a little further than the sun.

Kevin spent his formative years as a Collingswood kid and neighbor. He graduated from Collingswood High School, class of 1972, and made his career as a skilled and accomplished drywall finisher. Kevin had an incomparable depth of Philadelphia sports knowledge and cheered on the “Phightin” Phils from the ball game radio broadcasts. Most of all, he abundantly loved his family; his cup had never runneth over.

A wise parent gives their children roots and wings. Kevin will be deeply missed by his children Evan, Ryan, Kelsey, and Colin, all of Bellmawr. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his brothers, Thomas & how wife Alice, John & his wife Trudy, Patric, Keith & his wife Barbara, Joseph & his wife Eileen, Francis & his wife Rose, Robert & his wife Stacey Hastings, his sisters, Mary & her husband Michael Ball, Claire & her husband David White, Michele & her husband Paul Horner, Kelly & her husband Matthew Thompson as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his late parents, Thomas and Mary Hastings, Sr.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Hastings family. We’ll come together to take comfort in each other on Monday morning to remember and pay tribute to Kevin between 10:00 am and 11:00 am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John Roman Catholic Church, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, where we will celebrate life in faith in a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
