True North is the voice of expectation and the“I should.” Our own compass guides this sojourn, helping us live our lives wholly and successfully. Kenneth C. Stevenson lived in the "I should" mindset. He did not shy away from adventure or stepping out of his comfort zone. He was the True North of love that we could all look up to. He was genuinely kind and gave with a generous, open heart. Ken was steady and calm and would give everything away just to help other people. Warm hugs were just who he was, and when you can touch someone's heart, it is limitless.

The journey changes you. We are all tourists, God is our travel agent and has already identified our routes, bookings, and destinations... trust in Him and enjoy life. It's a journey! Therefore, live today! Tomorrow may not be.

On Saturday, April 25th, 2026. Just days after a devastating housefire, tomorrow didn't come for Ken. Ken passed away at Virtua-Lourdes Hospital in Camden. It wasn't the fire. It was a soft heart in a difficult world that finally, after 82 years, gave way to courage.

Ken was born in our nation's cradle of liberty, the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. It was here that he appeared and danced on “American Bandstand.” He had many fans from all across the nation!

He answered his country's call as he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. Attending to the wounded with the same steady compassion that would mark him for the rest of his days.

Ken made his career highlighting the balance between art, function, and the human experience as an architect. He was a project manager and spent years in the NJ Dept of Higher Education.

Ken held his faith dear, pouring his soul into our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was an active congregant of True North Church in Mullica Hill. Ken had been an inspiration, a leader, a speaker, and a motivator for Compassionate International. The mission trips he participated in were rooted in charity and developed a lifetime of lasting relationships that nurtured care, concern, and inspiration. He visited Peru many times, loved to cruise with his bride, pressing lady luck at the casinos, and always enjoyed a few days in the most magical place on earth. At home, he cheered on the “Phightin' Phils, " and the “Iggles,” and loved his hometown Tastykakes. But nothing was better than digging into the summer’s warm beach sand at the edge of the tide in Sea Isle.

Ken was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Ann (nee Leibrand) Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson is survived by and will be deeply missed by his brother Lawrence Stevenson, his daughters, Renee Ring, Justine Brown, Tessa Stevenson-Shaw, and LeAnn Stevenson (Jimmie). He is the proud grandfather of Lauren, Oliver, Allie, Benjamin, Ciara, Zachary, Terry, Cody, Joseph, Emma, Vada, Liliana, Jimmy, and great-grandfather of Grayson, Isabella, Sebastian, Thea, and Zeppelin. He will be missed by his faithful, furry companion, Lacey. Ken was predeceased by his granddaughter, the late Paige Brown, his brother, the late Paul Kline, and the late Angel Baby.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with Ken’s family as we come together in tribute and thanksgiving to take comfort in each other, celebrating a dedicated life of meaning in faith on Saturday morning between 10:00 am and 11:30 am at McGee Celebration Creran Funeral Home, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn, where a memorial ceremony will begin at 11:30 am. United States Army military honors and the witness of love’s reunion will immediately follow at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden.
