Bonnie Falcey (nee Schieve) passed peacefully on June 13, 2026. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joe, her brother Rick (Millie), her daughter Lauren, her son Michael (Andrea), her granddaughters Madeline and Veronica, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bonnie was born and raised in Geneva, Illinois, to her mother, Mildred, a bookkeeper, and her father, Richard, a carpenter and home builder. After high school, Bonnie attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, graduating with honors in 1972. In the years after college, life brought Bonnie to New Jersey, where she met Joe, her partner, friend, and the love of her life. Bonnie and Joe settled in Collingswood, where they lived for 52 years and raised their family.
Bonnie was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted seamstress, an exemplary
gardener, and a tremendous baker. Bonnie and Joe hosted dozens of parties filled with friends and neighbors in Bonnie’s beautiful yard over the years, and Bonnie’s ability to make every detail perfect as she entertained countless guests was unsurpassed. She was an avid reader, and in her later years, Bonnie became an ardent birdwatcher. She loved cataloguing all of the unique birds she spotted passing through her garden.
Above all, Bonnie was unconditionally devoted to her family. She was an endlessly supportive, loving, and caring mother and wife, and was every family member’s best friend. After her children were grown, life brought Bonnie her beloved dog Buster, whom she cared for just as much as she did the rest of her family. As a grandmother to Madeline and Veronica, Bonnie was as present and encouraging as she was for her children as they grew up. Bonnie will be greatly missed by her family, as well as her many friends, whom she treated as if they were family.
There will be no formal service; instead, a celebration of life will be planned in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage (www.aonj.org/support/donate).
